Along with opinions on the images, I also need advice on printing and display. I have just started to think about this now that I actually have a few images to work with! These are three photographs from my last time out shooting. What do you think about them verse the ones I posted last time with the people included? How big do you think you would like to see the images printed and what about the framing. I typically like a frameless appearance. (The photograph is mounted on gator board and the back has a aluminum backing that cannot be seen from the front it just simply lifts the image away from the wall.) Is this appropriate for this series?

I'm not sure if I remember ever seeing your work so i'm not exactly sure what the purpose of these are. To me, they are just photographs taken at one of those awesome discount stores but not much more than that. Maybe it would help if I had a little background information or refresher. But right now the only thing that's holding my interest is wondering where this place is so I can go buy stuff for my sets. I think you could do a lot with these with composition and colors. I'm already seeing some awesome green tones and I think you could really play with that. I know it's a little bit harder to get the exact composition you want in a place like that where you can't exactly arrange things, but I think something should be done.

I think once you shoot more and get to the printing part you should print them fairly large and you could go frameless but you could also do some neat stuff with frames. Say you take this super awesome photograph of some of the old frames that they probably sell, buy one of the frames and then frame that image. It would be a neat connection.
Don't think i'm a jerk by any of this, just giving you honest opinions!

These images look really good. I don't know what you are doing differently with the lighting but it looks clean and the colors look really clear. I was thinking that I liked the photographs with the people in them better but when I think about it I can more of a concept in these ones. It seems like an aftermath of humans or something. There is also something really creepy about the fact that people put all of this junk here but there are no people. I would keep going in this direction. It looks and feels much more professional then anything else you have done.

As far as printing I would print really big. I personally want to be abel to put myself in these places. I kinda feel like keeping these images out of frames will help the contents of the image seep into the space. yeah? ok. : )

wow, these look great. i love the hues in color you decided to use, gives a real vintage feel which relates to the content. as far as presentation, you could even go with a variety of frames you would find at a thrift store. i see different size prints (to fit the frames), collaged all together.

considering that Im not in your class, Im not sure that I have seen your previous images, but I like these. You briefly explained what you were doing, and I feel that these are successful in content. As far as framing them Im almost torn; I like the idea of the thrift store frames in different sizes, but Im afraid if the frames get to elaborate they might take away from the images. The only thin about gator board is that it sometimes warps, and I have had issues with people mounting my images incorrectly with weird edges, so just be careful.
