overall experience of panel and show
I thought that the show went extremely well, considering our budget and time. I have heard from many people that they were extremely impressed by the work as well as how the show was presented. I also was told my Gallery 5 that they were very impressed by our department, and the way that we conducted ourselves in terms of setting up and taking down the show.

I went back and reshot some of the original images in this series, because the negatives did not have the optimum density for my printing process. I feel these are more successful than then initial photographs.
I would like to point out that these are the only two images so far in the series that deal exclusively with minority groups. I have tried very hard to identify construction sites on top of minority settlements, but so far have had little luck. It seems the vast majority of land that sites such as these were situated on have long since been developed. There is undoubtedly a racist nature to the zoning and planning ordinances in this State. For future work on this project, does anyone find my selection of types of sites problematic? Or should I not worry so much about it?

One New Image
I have just about finished this image. I'm pretty happy about the way it came out. The only thing i'm going to change is make the edges a bit darker so it encloses the shot and makes you focus on the center.
Today Paul and I discussed the presentation of my series and he suggested that I mount them on sheets of aluminum and have them hang so that there is no border. That doesn't sound like a half bad idea to me but I was wondering what you guys think? I'm only going to be able to afford to print them 16x20 unfortunately so now my main question is just the framing, or lack there of? I'm doing two shoots this week so i'll post those as soon as they are finished.

These are images I shot this weekend, unfortunately due to printing complications the images will be on lustre paper as seen earlier in class instead of watercolor. For those who will be around for next semester I still plan on printing the images on watercolor paper. I will still be presenting the images mounted on wood and sitting on a shelf for the show. Feel free to give me feedback on these images.

My series “Boys are Pretty” is an exploration of female societal roles and what happens when men take these roles themselves. Women are depicted as caregivers and household laborers; often seen taking care of their children, in the kitchen, or stuck washing and mending. If women are not portrayed in these tasks than they are usually pictured as the ideal beauty or sexual desire.
More and more the idea of gender roles and sexual identity separate from their myths and both sexes transcend their instinct towards their own gender. My series pokes fun at the conservative reaction to this recent societal change. It questions the choice taken by man between a chosen identity and a biological one.
Overall I'm looking for feedback on presentation and overall aesthetic. Do the images go well together, do colors need to be changed, etc etc.
Also, as far as documentary images go- i need feedback on size. I don't usually see large images of this sort of subject matter but maybe I am mistaken?

Heres my artist statement I wrote for the book:
The photography series Foster Care is an exploration into the phase of secondhand item’s lives as they await their new keepers within the confines of consignment shops, thrift stores, and antiques shops. These items endure a state of limbo as they collect dust on shelves or on store floors with only the occasional handling by a browsing human. The individual lives they cross paths with during this state of purgatory and the physical environment they settle into for an indefinite period of time is curious state where an man made item, considered by someone to still have value, remains unclaimed.
(But if you all think there is something else in these or some of these images that are interesting other than this let me know!!)

Hey Guys, I decided to take my "home town" pictures series on as my final. These are some of my finalized images. What do you think? I am still going to add like 2 or 3.
This is my bio, just to give you an idea....
Bio
Thus far, my artistic career has been a montage of visual experiments consisting of various different mediums and subject matters, my strongest and best explored has been photography. Overall, my work has continuously leaned towards the portrayal of more urbanized environments. These places hold a history and portray the livelihoods of the people that have occupied them, almost, themselves, becoming living things with the ability to have character and change this character over time.
The work that I have currently been working on is somewhat of a photographic memorial of my childhood. Being that I strongly believe that it is the experiences in one’s life which makes them who they are and as a visual person, the place and therefore the aesthetic where I grew up has been very important to me. Thus, in my current work I am attempting to visually show my appreciation of this place. It is a place that is considered to be of little importance or ordinary to many. Yet, to me, this place is romantic and layered with memories.
Through the lighting, layering, and texture of this work I am reaching out to others in hope to engage and bring others into a world that they would otherwise pass by. My hope is for the viewer to grasp a romantic and almost magical quality from the work, coupled with a sense of loss and stillness that the passing of time can often provide.

I'm doing a high fashion shoot of an Indian model being beamed to an outer space planet where she comes a cross her ultra ego but as an outer space creature. There are 4 different models and there are 8 different outfits they are showing off. But each model has her own personality and they way she faces her ultra ego. In this one the model isn't scared but just wants to know where she is and how to get back where she came from they only thing is when she spots her ultra ego it is more afraid of the Indian model then the model of it. Let me know how i can make it look better. The rain really messed with my shooting for the last 2 weekends so i had to work with cloudy days. But what i was think is getting some single shots of each outfit with the model in the role of either the the Indian and creature and then doing one showing the interaction with both. This is what i have for this one let me know what you guys think.
